God is good to us everyday whether we realise it or not. The very fact that we wake up each morning is a sign of God’s goodness. The fact that He sent His beloved Son into this world 2,000 years ago to be beaten and die on a cruel cross for your sins and mine is heart melting evidence of His amazing love, mercy, grace and goodness toward us. The mercy of God can be seen in many other ways in life and it’s often the case that blessings come in little packages… the small and what may be considered insignificant things. When life is tough and the future looks grim, we need to look at the good in life and the abundant blessings He bestows on us day to day. If you wake up to a cold, rainy dreary day, thank God that you are alive! Every day we live is a gift… so thank God in the morning for another day of life and another opportunity to serve him and in the evening, thank Him for getting you through the day.
Learn to appreciate the simple things and always look at the sunny side of life. Focusing on negativity produces negativity. Focus on the positive and you will feel positive, 100% guaranteed.
When you are able to recognise and appreciate God’s blessings, it brings on a whole new meaning to life.
Because we feel blessed, then we are able to bless others and in return receive the blessing of giving! God can also use others to bless us when we are feeling down as well.
About a week ago, I (the page admin) had a nasty accident. I stabbed my hand with a very sharp combat knife whilst trying to cut through some parachute cord. God was good to me. Apart from the fact that I lost a bit of blood and needed 7 stitches, He in his mercy and lovingkindness stopped the injury from being much worse. As it was I cut through both layers of skin and very nearly severed a muscle (it was nicked superficially). Today, I had my stitches out and the injury is healing well. I am forever grateful to God for his tender mercies toward me and that He sent His guardian angels to watch over me. And that is only one example… God has saved my life and protected me from severe injury on many an occasion. Praise His name!
So today, if you’re feeling down, remember to “count your blessings”, not your problems and remember (if nothing else) that your Heavenly Father loves you so much that’s why your heart is still beating and that’s why He cared enough to send His Son to die for you! Remember that you can find joy every day, not because life is always good but because God is!
Psalm 34:8 “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”
